My Smithsonian T-shirt comes
from Mexico. The University
of Western Sydney one
is Chinese made. This poem
purports to have been
fabricated in Australia from
local materials; but that, quite
obviously, is a lie. The idea
is one I brought back with me
from New Zealand. Most of
the words are French or Latin
or Anglo-Saxon. The punctuation
comes from a little Greek village
called Komma, whose name
translates as “clause.” I stole
the pauses from the Japanese.

I do like the manner in which you have framed this situation and it does indeed give me personally some fodder for thought.
