We’re celebrating International Zine Month all of July here at Broken Pencil, but we’re teaming up with OCAD Zine Library and the Toronto Zine Library in a convergence of zine love on July 16, here in Toronto!

Starting at 5pm, we’ll have button making, zine making, letter writing and other DIY hangouts at the OCADU Learning Zone, 113 McCaul St. Then, at 7pm, local zinesters and readers will take the mic and share some of their recent work. We’ll have Whitney French reading from her serial anthology From The Root, Jordaan Mason reading from his recent chapbook Swimming Alone in the Backyard, and Eric Levitt of Gay 4 Pay press reading from his brand spankin’ new zine, The acronym VGL is body fascism.

Stop by and pay your respects to the zine gods and DIY pals! Oh yeah, and it’s free!
