Amy Millan, Honey from the Tombs

The Stars are my least favourite of the CanIndie brat pack, so I have no great investment in the throat mechanics of Stars’ sanger Amy Millan (plus my ears continue to be lead astray of late by Montreal’s Angela Desveaux). Anyhoo, now that I’m forced to hear this, my critical faculties have singled out some likely singles to add to the mix CDs I never make. Now that I’m a skinny man, Skinny Boy makes me nostalgic for me. Baby I makes me think I’m listening to another CD (so it’s no surprise to discover that Jenny Whiteley wrote it). And He Brings Out the Whiskey in Me is a song for the ages. (Terence Dick)
