Black Shapes

This is a cautionary tale for some aspiring indie writers — the opening sequence shows Jack’s progression as a writer, from English class essay and notebook to zine and anthology book of young writers. And now? He’s a market analyst with a desk job, insomniac haunted by a dark outlined shape that heaps all his insecurities on him. Clear crisp black and white drawings, lovely to look at and phew, a happy ending. There’s hope if this hits close to home. (Sarah Evans)
