For a fraction of a second, I thought – with a small amount of dread – this CD is part of Ani Difranco’s folk family. Lucky for me, you and Chrystal D-Z herself, she’s more interested in the operatic blues of PJ Harvey and unleashes her stripped down (voice plus git) laments and exhortations with a suitably distraught wail.
