Music Review: Braintoy — Vehicles

If you’ve never heard Braintoy’s stuff or witnessed them live, they more or less sound like Ænema-era Tool, with their heavy guitar and atmospheric bridges, and occasionally weird time signatures. But Braintoy is also more operatic, employing Baroque, sometimes almost Bach-esque, keyboards, acoustic interludes, and a vocal style that’s more reminiscent of Dir En Grey (except, you know, in English). A must-have for any surviving indie metal fans out there. (Richard Rosenbaum)
