Carefully selected “stories that defy classification” is what Pindeldyboz.com is all about. Its biweekly issues contain only six new, unpublished pieces of (mostly) fiction, with occasional bits of artwork, non-fiction and poetry (although new poetry submissions are no longer allowed, and the focus is definitely short fiction). Pindeldyboz was also, up until last Fall, an annual print anthology but has since become web-only. The care that the creators/editors go to in selecting their stories is apparent, and it’s easy to lose yourself in the wonderful and inventive offerings. A few oddities make their way in, but mostly the stories are well written and offer a glimpse into a young generation of emerging American authors’ minds and works. (Jennifer Fabro)
