The Russian Futurists, Me, Myself and Rye

I’ve been writing a lot lately about how I just want to listen to music that gives me pleasure and then this CD ends up in my hands and it’s all like, “Be careful what you wish for!” A compilation of tracks from the Russian Futurists’ first three CDs, this is relentless in it’s upbeat-ness and aggressive poppiness. It’s like I’m being beaten by Phil Spector reincarnated as a bedroom-bound laptop popper. Which is alright in small doses but a bit much over the course of a full length CD. I’m saving this for the mix tapes I never have time to make anymore. (Terence Dick)
