The Sound Of Poison is a classic black and white quarter-page perzine featuring long written entries. Unfortunately, like a lot of perzines, Glover seems to be writing more for herself than for any sort of audience. At first the writing is discordant and seemingly unedited in any clear way, making it difficult to follow or empathize with. But situational divides that come up later on help a lot.
When Glover drops the cryptic rambling and writes clearly about ghosts, scents and dreams, her passion is strong and interesting. Unfortunately for her the strongest piece in the zine is a sex story by contributor May Van Note which is recounted so vividly and tenderly the other pieces in the zine suffer by comparison.
