Various Artists – Jamaica to Toronto: Soul, Funk & Reggae 1967-1974

Do yourself a favour and get this. And then ask yourself why it took some Yanky crate diggers and a label from Capital Grunge to release it? And then just be happy they did. And then ask yourself why Gino Vanelli is a household name (in my household, at least) but not Wayne McGhie. And then wonder what all these musicians are doing today. And think about the vicissitudes of time as you nod your head and shake your ass in tribute to these once lost, now found classics. (Terence Dick)
