The Grind is running late, meaning you now have until October 6th to submit! But really, foreal, can you please submit? Only, that is, if you’re a rural punk, or even just rural— living in a town/city under 10,000 (with certain exceptions). Poems, articles, art, all that good stuff— please send it along to [email protected]

Call for Submissions: Gay Consent Zine

BP Assistant Editor Jonathan and Eric from Gay 4 Pay press are putting together about all the complexities of negotiating consent that are specific to men who sleep with men. Topics include verbal/non-verbal consent, cruising, sexual health, HIV, pre-negotiation, unwelcome touching/public touching, and anything else you think is relevant. Deadline is Sept 30. Call for Submissions: Poetry Is Dead

This issue of Poetry Is Dead is all about youth, youth culture, explorations of angst past, and all that. Poems shirking adult responsibility and engaging instead with preferred teen modes of communication, the kind of poems you’d put up in your locker, and all that. Call for Submissions: 100 Depressed Days

Maria Yagoda’s new project, inspired by 100 Happy Days, will document 100 average, run-of-the-mill days with depression, trying to show what the day-to-day of depression can look like: smiles, burritos, tears, greasy hair, Netflix, tragedy, deep breaths, drinking, etc. Although the project is mostly pictures and text form her, submissions are welcome. Call for Submissions: AfroFuturist Affair

Philly’s annual AfroFuturist Affair Charity & Costume Ball has been expanded into a month=long celebration of afrofuturism. Events throughout November will include workshops, dance party, readings, book club, film screenings, art exhibit, and more. They are seeking self-identified AfroFuturists to perform or display their Black sci-fi, spec-fic, and Afrofuturistic themed work at the Ball.
