Friday Round-Up: Found on the Internet

An oh-so-brief round-up of what we were reading through this week:

Brooklyn cartoonist Julia Wertz (of the great comics collection about Craigslist missed connections ads)  is featured in Sadie Magazine. Wertz, along with other lady cartoonists Kate Beaton (Hark! A Vagrant) and Sarah Glidden (How to Understand Israel in 60 Days or Less), share a studio space in NYC and make up the cartoon collective,  Pizza Island. All three make fab cartoons and the shared creative space sounds like a highly productive way to make  art.

Classic comic forum for nerds Word of the Nerd writes about the Wowee Zonk zine from Toronto and how zines are still alive and kicking.

The lovely and laid-back Guelph zine and comic expo Kazoo! is rolling back around this year (April 11-15), with the zine fest proper happening on April 14. Registration is now open!

And illustrator Jillian Tamaki fields student questions on the nitty-gritty of being a freelance illustrator, including insight whether to get a literary agent and when to send a bill.
