VANCOUVER
Canzine West is here guys! There’s a zine fair, a participatory all-day art show, the 1-2 punch book pitch, rad Vancouver readers and our dissent chill panel. Come for a day of creative mind-melds, ideas, swaps and inspiring exchanges.
OTTAWA
Founded by Rob McLennan, the fair usually contains exhibitors with poetry books, novels,cookbooks, posters, t-shirts, graphic novels, comic books, magazines, scraps of paper, gum-ball machines with poems, 2x4s with text, etc, including (at previous events) Bywords, Dusty Owl, Chaudiere Books, above/ground press, Room 302 Books, The Puritan, The Ottawa Arts Review, Buschek Books, The Grunge Papers, Broken Jaw Press, BookThug, Proper Tales Press, and others. COME!
MONTREAL
Saturday November 17 – Sunday November 18, 12pm – 6pm, Expozine 2012, 5035 St. Dominique
Now in its 11th year, Expozine has become the largest small press fair in North America, bringing together over 270 creators of all kinds of publications– from books to zines to graphic novels – in both English and French. Broken Pencil will be tabling, along with many others.
TORONTO
Happy birthday to Toronto’s dearest comic book shop. The Beguiling celebrates this year by bringing in comic heavy-hitters Charles Burns, Adrian Tomine and Chris Ware to talk about their new books and present all-new audio/visual presentations from these works.
Oh yeah, it’s a haiku battle to the death. Haiku writers, come prepared to do battle in a head-to-format as your poetry is judged by 3 audience members! Maximum 16 contestants. Be sure to come early (7pm) to get a spot.
