First off if you’re going to buy this thing then get the colour version. It’s worth the additional $4 bucks. I mean, the blues and reds are so precise that they just jump out at you (no ‘cid required). As for the content, all the articles pretty much centre on the indie music scene. You get new band discovery pieces and bios. There are also a couple of bits about what’s going on around the old BC live club scene. With “The Drawing Page” and zine review page thrown in for good measure, it’s pretty easy to see what Midnight Messenger is all about. I especially liked Melanie Ferris’ interview with Cecil Seaskull. She is hot–and I haven’t even heard her CD. (DP)
