Come one come all! Zinesters! Scenesters! Nominees and well-wishers alike, everyone is invited to our 2022 Broken Pencil Zine Awards ceremony, going down November 24th at Dundas Video! Here’s everything you need to know about our big bash!
Venue and Accessibility:
- Two steps from the street to enter the venue.
- The venue is on the Dundas streetcar route (505), nearest stops are Manning Ave and Bathurst St.
- Washrooms are down a flight of stairs.
- Washrooms are gender neutral.
- Dundas Video is a bar. You are welcome to partake in an alcoholic beverage.
- Non-alcoholic beverages are available.
Streaming:
- For those that cannot attend, the event will be streamed via our Twitch channel.
- You do not need a Twitch account to watch the stream.
- Streaming will begin at 7:00 PM EST.
- The V.O.D. will be recorded and saved on the Broken Pencil Twitch account and can be accessed by anyone.
What to Expect:
- Begins at 7:00 PM EST and ends at 10:00 PM EST.
- Nominated zines will be available for purchase at the Broken Pencil table, along with Broken Pencil merchandise and $10 one-year subscriptions.
- First 20 people will receive a free mystery bag!
- Zine readings!
- Winners will be revealed throughout the event. Nominees have prepared videos showcasing their zine and artistic process.

Awards for zines! The BPZA is an international zine awards competition awarded by Broken Pencil Magazine.
How should I pay?
The Broken Pencil table will be accepting cash and card. Dundas Video accepts cash and card.
Is there an entry fee?
No! This is a free event.
Do I have to be nominated to attend?
No! Anyone is welcome to attend. Bring your friends!
