Monday April 14

The Heels on Wheels Glitter Roadshow tours the U.S. annually with a dazzling, diverse cabaret of performance art works and acts of resistance by queer folks of femme-inine spectrum genders. The fearless artists rampage from hi-femme to femmedrogyny in a wild revue of visceral poetic performance, emotional escape plans, high femme drag, multimedia mermaids, and rocknroll you can sink your heels into!The show itself consists of six touring performers and local acts in every city – including Toronto locals Sedina Fiati, Sunny Drake, Alex Cafarelli, and ILL NANA/DiverseCity Dance Company, and includes Shomi Noise, who will read from her zine series “Building Up Emotional Muscles.”

Featuring a special panel commemorating the launch of two new books by bpNichol, featuring Stephen Cain, editor of bp:Beginnings, Lola Tostevin and Brian Dedora, moderated by Gregory Betts. Also a virtual reading by Wayne Clifford.  Plus readings by Jacob Wren and Aisha Sasha John.

Dr Sketchy’s Anti Art School is what happens when a simple question is asked- why can’t figure drawing be sexy? Part art class, part cabaret, join us for 3 hours of drinking, drawing and decadence. Featuring the rockabilly styles of Lottie Libido.

Please join Open Heart Forgery, the Mayor, and Halifax’s Poet Laureate, in honour of National Poetry Month, for the April launch of the OHF Journal and an evening filled with poetry.

It’s finals time! Featuring Bassam, Andre Prefontaine, Sabrina, MultiPurpose Hot Air Machine, Estefania, Prufrock, Kara and Ketch22, and special guests BAM! The Toronto Youth Slam team and Joshua Bennett.
