The Banditas

It’s difficult to describe the out of body experience that sometimes occurs at a really great show. Likely, you’ve consumed too much 50, sweat is pouring down your back, and you’re being elbowed in the ribs by the typically giant men gathered at the front of the stage. At some point, your body starts to vibrate from the constant barrage of white noise emanating from the speaker stacks and it feels possible that you might disintegrate completely before the set is over. Suddenly, a ferocious energy overtakes you. You find yourself throwing your puny weight around, screaming and hollering, kicking beer bottles out of your way, and generally acting crazed. The Banditas intense debut crackles with this same bruising energy. With the ferocious guitar attack of Liz McDermott and Scott Terry bristling throughout, these songs set just the right tone of menace from first track to last. (Karyn Bonham)
