This is probably far from the most recent issue, the way these guys keep churning them out. I’m still waiting to see them run out of ideas for the format. It hasn’t happened yet, though. This time Tabasko, Quebec City’s premiere comic anthology, is really tall and skinny. The insides still contain what seems to be the best underground comics Quebec City has to offer. The Pillsbury Doughboy, as in past issues, is still (inadvertently) finding ever more gruesome ways to shatter his fragile constitution. The ‘Negro fishing’ lawn ornament is still getting pestered by his friend the flamingo. Overall, not too much different thematically from the last issues but the gags still make me laugh. And after all, there was a time when that’s all comics were for. (LR)
