Sassy, as you ll see by picking up any current issue, is a sissy shadow of its former self, but Saucy is a plump, tongue-in-the-air, nose-thumbing prom queen of a zine. The recipe is simple: take about 120 lumps of half-baked, attitude-marinated ideas, add spice, and pour through a punk-o-metre sieve. Then mash it up with a cut n paste meatgrinder and slaver lovingly over the pages. Staple and serve. Smart cartoons, fried fashion, goopy gossip, braised bands, roasted reviews and a drizzle of community make Saucy more than edible. Considering this comes from Cornwall, which Maggie describes as a land of zombies, it s very much alive, if shouting nothing of major importance. The taste s not in the ingredients, it s in the cooking.
