Wow a double issue of Geist. This is one of Canada’s best magazines, it is literate, funny and doesn’t take any bullshit. If you are interested in literary culture in Canada, you must read Geist. If you are not interested in literary culture in Canada then you are an asshole but you still must read Geist because literature transcends culture and is not some fringe thing that you must be interested in to appreciate but rather an entity that contains all life as we know it. At any rate, Geist demonstrates this nicely. This is a magazine that isn’t afraid to review and print comics, doesn’t have bullshit pictures that get in the way, and is far enough out of Toronto to trash literary impresario Greg Gatenby without fear of reprisal.
