Canada’s snarky guide to pop culture has an irreverent wit that almost makes you want to read it. Labelled a 100\% pure waste of time experience, the fact is that it is probably only a 50\% waste of time experience which, in case you are wondering, is a recommendation for the damn thing since, well, most zines are probably hovering around the 75\% waste of time experience, especially those that are trying to be funny. Among those items that rank in the \% of time not wasted category are the Late 80s Hair Bands Attractive Coffee Table Book feature, Tim Lees- Rambert’s New Guy in the Big City article on being a fledgling Toronto artiste, and, of course, the ever popular searching for Alanis Morissette when she was still a trite pop singer in Ottawa feature…Perhaps the best thing about this zine is its ability to pose important questions concerning the state of Canadian culture such as this half-page bold query: “Sondra Gotlieb. Necessary?”
