In this utterly captivating gross out, Sally forcefully aborts her brother out of her mother then shoves a watermelon and a scorpion up into the space where baby brother used to be. She then glues her dad into mom and goes outside to play. The parents, by the way, are bedridden due to a bad shark accident. Most of this happens silently, dreamily… Eraserhead meets Julie Doucet. Or something. Off Kilter number 5 is definitely one of Tim’s best mainly because everything happens in the between place where watermelon scorpions and shark bait parents add up to some unquantifiable narrative weirdness; Grant’s very own fictional universe; that place where things happen because they can’t help but happen.
