This spring, Coach House Books will publish a new poetry book by francophone literary legend (and multiple Governor General’s Award winner) Nicole Brossard: White Piano. The book follows Jocelyne Saucier’s And the Birds Rained Down, winner of the Prix des Cinq Continents de la Francophonie, and finalist for the Grand Prix de la ville de Montreal. The two authors will launch and read from their newest English translations at The Monarch Tavern. Brossard and Saucier will read short passages in French, while Margaret Christakos (What Stirs, Welling) will read the English translation of Brossard’s work, and Rhonda Mullins, translator of And the Birds Rained Down, will read the translation of Saucier’s novel. Followed by a discussion.
