Cyclista Zine

About: Cyclista Zine is inviting collaboration for their fifth issue. The issue EmboDIYing Disruption, will host short stories, visual art, photography, thoughts, poetry, rants, essays, how-to’s, mini zines and doodles all related to themes of ‘emboDIYing disruption’ in cycling! BIPOC, trans/queer folks of color, accomplices and disabled folks are especially encouraged to submit their work. 

Guidelines: This issue will be exploring intersectionality and do-it-yourself disruption, whether that’s within do-it-yourself spaces, media, in systems, or institutions in cycling. They hope to center this issue around sustainable activism, frameworks of intersectionality disruption, nourishing resistance, cultivating community with in-person gatherings and prioritizing self-care so that they can continue to do important work.

Potential ideas for material on the topic of emboDIYing disruption to include, but are not limited to the following- relating to the space of and movements within cycling: Futures; Community Organizing; Activism/Education; Visibility / Communication / Media; Accessibility; DIY Tutorials. All written submissions would ideally be between 500-1,500 words, between 1-3 single-spaced pages in 12point font, Time Roman, submitted through Google doc. Accompanied with images (photos, drawings, collages, paintings, etc.) that will format properly as background designs

Supporters are welcome to send their pitches for topics for the zine.
