About: Zine that’s on a regular cassette tape. With a regular tape player, you can extract images, text, and data using your computer or smartphone.

Submissions: Anything celebrating analogue media and culture. Visual, text, audio, art, photography, poetry, writing, manifestos, painting, music, interviews, spoken word.
Tech info: All submissions will be converted into either A side Audio (music, audio, etc) or B side Data (all images converted to ROBOT 36 SSTV image, all text converted to ASCII text) Image submissions will be converted to a 4:3 ratio, Audio no longer than 3 minutes, Text no longer than 2 kilobytes (no more than 1000 words, shorter is very welcome)

Submissions: The theme is Otherness. This issue will focus on the experience of othering and/or being othered. Poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction and scholarly articles are welcome.

About: Collaborative publication
Fee: $10 CAD
Pay: Cross Process pays all contributors using the CARFAC minimum fee schedule as a baseline.
Contributors: People who identify as immigrants, first-generation, or second-generation Canadian. Groups and collectives welcome.
Submissions: Artwork and writing about and informed by these dual or multi-faceted identities; “we would like to investigate the shifts, slippages, anxieties, difficulties, and, not least of which, the successes of self-identification across (and often, between) cultures.”

Zine Awards
Publication: Broken Pencil Magazine
Fee: $14-$25
Prize: $200 cash for each category winner. Winner of the Best Overall Zine gets an additional $400. Winners profiled in the magazine, online and receive trophy, which will be presented to them at Canzine Toronto. Both winners and nominees will have their zines sold on the BP store, be included at zine fairs and stores and presented at special displays at libraries.
Entry categories: Political Zine, Perzine, Comic Zine, Art Zine, Compilation Zine, Literary Zine, Micro Literary Journal, and Fanzine.
Submissions: Maximum three zine submissions per person. Zines should have been made between April 2018 and July 2019.
