The Indie Writers Deathmatch is over. Seven weeks of trash talk, vote pandering, lying, scheming, and well-articulated literary feedback have led to Chase Baird winning the final round. “Writing is kind of like spilling your guts,” said Baird, which had been the topic of her story. And as the readers doubted the vitality of her insides, our champion took on her own dissection to prove these guts had blood flow.
Chase Baird’s “Heart String” will be published in the spring issue of Broken Pencil, along with “Twenty-Somethings” by Claire Ferris, “A Taste of the Whip” by Hart, and “The Liberator” by Glyn Rebl.
