Grants for Zinesters: Operation AHAP

Make your dream zine in beautiful Kawartha Lakes, Ontario this summer!

For the second year in a row, the forever-wonderful zinester Dave Cave is offering his Operation: As Hot As Possible (Operation AHAP) mini arts zine grant to one very lucky zine-maker. The grant includes:

+ a chance to live with Cave for a week in his sweet pad near the Kawartha Lakes in Lindsay, Ontario, anytime between July 1st and the end of August (“Big yard! Campfires!” says Cave.)

+ $50 towards travel costs

+ quiet, productive time in a healthy, happy space (you can even work in Cave’s shed, although you may be sharing it with the chickens) to start/work on/finish your zine project, whatever it might be

+ Cave will bring your finished zine around to various fairs and table with it.

Cave writes that the “H” in “AHAP” this year will stand for “healthy,” including “healthy bowels.” As such you can expect to be fed lots of healthy food and beet juice during your stay.

Eligible entrants must be zine-makers who have completed at least one zine, and who are able/willing to travel to central Ontario for a little bit.

Deadline is June 1! That’s soon! Email [email protected] for an application form!

Last year’s grant was awarded to Kit, who made Pinch Kid #2, which is about being as happy as possible in the summer. So great.

For complete requirements (and really you should read the whole blog post about the grant, because it’s cute) go to Dave Cave’s Operation AHAP website.
