Miniskirt World Network: Business Slut Online is Porpentine’s latest Twine gift to the internet, created with Neotenomie. The game centers around miniskirts and office life with a surreal twist.
You’ve been trapped in the Uxurant Skyscraper for longer than you can remember, isolated with coworkers that have become your nemeses. As per usual, the game is peppered with not-quite-proper web jargon from the beginning, where you are asked to to connect your miniskirt ‘via USB or wireless and hit play’ and, if you can’t do that, to ‘connect via psychic fusion’.
You know, connecting via psychic fusion, that thing we all do when we use the internet? Yeah, I figured you knew.
The incredibly chill easy vibing tunes that play throughout the game make you want to hang out on the final buggy video screen for far longer then you really need to. Neotenomie seems to be behind the sounds, and more of her work can be found through this link — it’s worth it to check her out. The song used in Miniskirt World Network is bleed perfectly, in case you don’t want to always have to open the game to hear it again.
This is probably one of Porpentine’s bigger undertakings with looped video tracks in the background of the start screen and through every link in the final sequence; where you have the option to lift your miniskirt, put your hand between your legs, nails on your thighs or install a chip, to name a few. Visually the video tracks are beautifully distracting if you dig glitchy vids, and they fit right into the Miniskirt World Network narrative. Whether you work in an office and hate it or hate the very idea of stepping foot in an office, Miniskirt World Network: Business Slut Online is a fun, vaguely unsettling game to enjoy during your lunch break.
