So okay, Tyler continues to search for the right balance — is he a straight-edge punk Christian, or a Christian straight-edge punk? He is straight-edge, but, he explains, it is more a matter of his faith then identifying with any kind of straight-edge movement. Anyway, his musings aren’t annoying, though they are sorta preachy, well, let’s face it, people who don’t want to hear about god and Jesus are always going to have that problem with Tyler’s zine, but, of course, that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t do it…still, Tyler gets a little much in his discussion of the murder in Scotland of 16 children saying that not only did this guy kill innocent kids, but he condemned himself to hell in the process, I mean, surely we have something more constructive to write about? The interview with Soul Food 76 was fun, and I related to Tyler’s musing about how much easier it was to be 16 than 22. Tyler, at least, has the church to rely on.
