The first story in here is about a guy who marries his mother. It is a particularly restrained story — relative to what we are about to encounter in the rest of the mag — but quite lovely in that restrained sort of way. Then there’s a brief breaking through of the alien in the form of a poem/letter to Ann Landers by someone who needs a good fuck. Then more lovely restraint in a story about a guy who “worried that by doing nothing, he had inadvertantly done something,” and who concludes finally “that only things which happen twice could be real.” After that the gloves come off and we get to see what Black Cat is really all about. Titles like: “Just Another Asshole”, “Murdress” and “How to Stop the Terror.” A Charlie Brown story wherein Lucy sucks Schroeder off and wherein Charlie Brown wonders to himself: “Why the fuck did every adult I ever know talk like this…WOMP WOMP WOMP WAAAHMP.” Who are the human’s responsible for this abomination? Whoever you are, keep making it happen!
