When the Nazis made Germany too harsh for the Bruderhof movement, many people in this radical Christian movement ended up in the U.S. Now many of the Bruderhof people are working hard to make life hard for those that profit from injustice and racism. BLU is both a label (they have a CD in every issue) and a publication coming from where protest and popular culture meet. The CD with this issue – Global Guerrillas – is primarily but not exclusively politically orientated material. All the pieces were good, but I was particularly impressed with Aztlan Underground’s Sacred Circle and Lady Blue’s Glad to Be Here. The magazine itself is a bit slick but with the interview with American Indian Movement founder John Trudell, excepts from an interview with Bishop Samuel Ruis and a good piece on women guerillas by Subcomandante Marcos Insurgentas!, mean that there’s a lot here. Reviews and news clips, poetry and powerful graphics make this a rare find. (BB)
