An excellent comic magazine featuring many of Canada’s best comic artists. There are some great one-pagers by Vesna, Tony “Ratboy” Walsh and Marc Bell, as well as longer slice of life pieces such as Leanne Franson’s tale of Liliane’s painful and disillusioning transition into “womanhood.” A long interview with Dan Clowes puts all of this within a wider framework of North American “underground” comics, although it’s indicative of an adulation for American alternative comic ‘stars’ (an unfortunate tendency, considering the many great Canadian artists out there now).
