Frond: The Zine That Grows On You
Frond Pond Frond Pond Jamie Redpeach. Yikes! What can I say about Frond? Actually, there’s quite a lot I can say about Frond. First, it DOESN’T suck. Second, Jen Rosser has put together a pretty well-written personal-zine that IS a form of stimulation to others (including me). The production is hard-core traditional (think photocopier, pencil, and string). And the ideas are all her own. What one gets for three bucks is the world according to Jen, in all its Georgetown madness. With issue two, you can see the Feldspar Poem, the special feature “Adventures in non-driver land,” and even an archival drawing of Jamie Redpeach’s custom-made high school graduation dress (complete with Frothy White Tulle Slip). How much further can you expect a Frond zine to go? Being a true child of the ’80’s I can’t wait to find out. (DP)
