You know how sometimes poetry can do everything it’s supposed to, scan well, stretch the limits of the language, express something important, all that, and it still just doesn’t do it for you? And then you have to review it, and you don’t think it’s bad, but it definitely doesn’t appeal to your peculiar sensibilities? What do you do then? Say something approving about the politics, I guess, and encourage people to check it out for themselves and make up their own minds. (WB)
