I think every activist, feminist woman should read and support this magazine. (And activist concerned men should support it too.) It’s full of info and articles by influential women like Naomi Klein and Judy Rebick. For example, there’s a look at Trudeau’s career which doesn’t give him the glowing praise that so many other people did. There’s a big article on AIDS and prison art, as well as a long article that focuses on abolishing violence against women and women’s poverty. This magazine is unique because it attempts to find solutions to problems. There are always lots and lots of reviews of books and CDs that may not be recognized by some of the bigger magazines. This magazine also caters to all types of women, ethnicities, and ages. Herizons is produced in Winnipeg and therefore looks at the Western Canadian perspective – it’s not completely Ontario-centric.
