In Kevin’s zine, personal rants are subjected to more self-scrutiny then they necessarily deserve. “am i just going through the motions here? am i just dreaming up new clichés to live through on paper? is this just a self-indulgent exercise in emotion?” demands Kevin somewhere in the middle of trying to grow up without having to be a grown up. His zine wrestles with issues around maturity and employ a stark, serious all-prose aesthetic that is at once daunting and compelling. But nothing Kevin tells us about his introspective young life can answer his portentous questions – queries that are essential to every act of outward self-depiction. (HN)
