Editor Pat K. has amazingly led this through its fourteenth issue in under two years, while at the same time organizing shows, playing music, and helping to open the impressive “Local.” The “Local” combines a store full of local zines, comics, recordings, T-shirts etc. with an office space shared by Kerozen and other organizations aiming to produce, promote and document happenings in a variety of scenes, in print, performance and radio (the CBC is now airing every Kerozen launch show). The zine itself hasn’t quite developed into much, though it still serves its purpose. Zine and comic reviews, record reviews, band interviews and a smattering of rants and stories fill its 28 pages. There are other zines which do the same thing with more originality, but few are as respected as this one, because of everything else the editor does. (LR)
