Lumiere

In Lumiere #4, Andrew’s wild and feverishly poetic prose describes his hitchhiking adventures. He tells us about the strange people he meets and the bizarre places he wakes up through a series of dream-like tableaux that are sometimes nightmarish, sometimes surreal, but always beautiful. The world as sketched out in Lumiere is a series of minivans and transport trucks gliding along highways. It’s a multitude of bus stations, suburbs and coffee shops. It’s a string of childhood memories and images of frost at sunset. It’s the story of a guy who comes back from a strange trip and realizes that “there is no karma, no white light, no visions, no angels, no mystic meaning, no cosmic connection-” (Audrey Gagnon)
