Lumpy Discharge / Nixon Comics

This split zine reveals two sides of political comics; one critiques with slapstick mockery, and the other retells history that is reminisent of today. Lumpy Discharge shows the hypocrisy and futility of the US occupation of Iraq through two soldiers, Private Discharge and Corporal Fuk-Yu Honky. Simple drawings and silly punch lines remind me of newspaper comic columns. The Nixon Comics are more complex, introducing characters close to Nixon and the spying and corruption that occurred during his presidency. A history buff would enjoy these short storylines and cartoon caricatures that make all these old white men look super creepy (Sarah Evans)
