Remember that scene in Pump Up the Volume when Christian Slater and the cool chick who is fascinated by his social retardation get hot and bothered while listening to Concrete Blonde and the music is sultry and sexy and you know they’re going to take off their shirts? I loved that movie but watching it now it’s hard to believe the actors are teenagers. Hearing the soundtrack again, the music is kind of kitschy, kind of Hollywood, but still maintains its cool after all these years. This album is like that. (Terence Dick)
