Okay I suppose I should be more sympathetic to Scott’s youthful exuberance, but this really wasn’t much of a zine. There’s a lot of ballast here, spewed effluvia about things like Winnie Cooper on the Wonder Years (a show all but erased from most memories), the true nature of the Star Wars fan, how models are too thin, and an entire page devoted to “people who could kick” Scott’s ass. I did like the brief portrait of the actor Steve Buscemi, but it was pretty slim and did not make up for “ten reasons why the dogs next door are trying to kill me” which was just so not funny that it made me long for the hilarity of the “people who could kick” Scott’s ass page, which, I’m happy to note, I’m not on because to tell you the honest truth even if I could best Scott in a physical confrontation, I don’t think I would bother.
