When I lived in Peterborough (pop. 66 000), I often craved the anonymity of a big city. My fellow small town citizens didn’t feel the same way. Helen begins this half-issue supplement to her regular zine by echoing my sentiments as her summer winds down and she prepares to return to school in London, Ontario. It’s always nice to know that someone feels the same way you do. Helen goes on to muse about summers past and how hard it is to talk to mom. She wrestles with the ethics of zoos and meat, she remembers her childhood in Regent Park (government housing neighbourhood in Toronto), she streams her consciousness. Add pictures and now you know how to paint the houses. (TD)
