In support of starving musicians for over four years, RhiG is a Toronto mainstay. It covers indie music news and does reviews. More of a newsletter than a zine, features this time include profiles on Neko Case, Girls Against Boys, Orange Alert and more. Articles are generally well written, but the enduring memory you’re left with is the pathetic column called House Nation which espouses free access to drugs and serves no purpose at all. The piece is so insipid and juvenile that it provides an argument to the contrary. Drug culture can be thankful that there are others writers out there with intellect who are fighting a good fight backed by reason, not this kind of look-at-me-I’m-so-cool brain damage. (DF)
