film review:
Roadsworth: Crossing the Line
Known as one of the hottest graffiti artists in Canada, Roadsworth (aka Peter Gibson) gets his own biopic with this artistically filmed doc. We get a solid overview of the Montrealer’s favourite designs in public spaces, from his leaf-covered traffic lines to the parking spots outfitted with painted electric plugs. Roadsworth is playful, but the doc gets serious when we learn about the lawsuits and city violations weighing down the artist. The doc could’ve been a more intimate probe into Roadsworth’s life, but at the very least it gave graf lovers a hero worth admiring. (David Silverberg)
