This is probably one of the bravest ‘zines I’ve received in quite some time. Nicole confronts her past for the first time and deals with being raped, and in the process, hopes to not only become stronger but to inspire other women to be strong as well. She leads us through the process and in doing so touches upon such issues as trust, support and awareness, which she attempts to sort out. Intercut between her personal story are facts regarding rape which add to the emotional weight and bring her story into social perspective. Just when she/we think that things cannot get any better, Nicole finds trust in her closest friends – in doing so she offers hope and strength to those who maybe trying to deal with rape themselves. This is not only a very good ‘zine, it is an important zine that everyone can learn from. (GS)
