The Extraordinary Life of Michael Elvidge is so…not…extraordinary. I wish I knew more about comic artists, some of whom I can certainly appreciate and some of whom I adore, but Michael’s work is just creepy. And I’m sure the point of this collection is to show off the mundane and ordinary reality that we all live everyday, but who wants to read about that? And worse, who wants to see creepy comics of mundane life? I’m not saying everything has to be fantastical; indeed, I abhor fantasy stories and sci-fi. But if you’re going to ink something then at least have something to say. (Jon Pressick)
