I came to this chapbook of poetry hoping that the author wouldn t let me down. Surprisingly, he didn t. Jason Gallagher has put together a really kick-ass collection of humorous slacker poems. With titles like “innocent by reason of stupidity” and “as Chinaski said”, you know exactly where this guy s coming from. While I don t think that Jason Gallagher s going to be taking home a Governor General s award for this stuff, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who hates poetry because they think it s all too serious and academic. This collection of work clearly proves that poetry can be well written and lighthearted at the same time. I sincerely hope that Jason Gallagher comes out with another collection of this type of poetry ASAP. We need it. (DP)
