A number of things are amazing about this magazine. It’s free, which is amazing because it’s quite beautiful – full colour cover, fabulous reproductions of art work, and very warm layout generally. There is amazing diversity – they start off with a detailed look at painter Michael Caines, interview spoken word artist Amy Rachelle, print fiction and poetry, augment most pieces with art work of some kind (illustration, photography), and finish up with a couple of articles about happenings in Toronto, like the World Cycle Messengers Championships. Perhaps the most amazing thing here is that almost the whole thing is worth reading – it doesn’t navel gaze in that oh so Toronto way, and it doesn’t highlight people who are already over-exposed.
