This may be Canzine Calgary’s second year, but Calgary’s zine history long precedes us. We’ve gathered a panel of YYC’s finest zine experts to bring us up to speed about the rad self-publishers who have always been a part of the city’s underground, including Dave Tighe, Stacey Bru and Colin Martin.
4:30pm – 5:30pm • Workshop: From the Page to the Stage •
filling Station Magazine is thrilled to host From the Page to the Stage, an experiential workshop led by writer, performer, and facilitator Rita Bozi. During this one hour event, Rita will share some of her expertise for bringing your writing to life in front of an audience, facilitate a discussion about performance, and guide new and experienced readers alike through the embodiment of their work in a fun, relaxed and low-pressure environment. Bring a short excerpt of your own writing to rehearse and explore with the group, though space will be made for those who would prefer to listen in. This is an all-ages and abilities event, so please also bring your consideration of others as we learn and grow together.
