Wendy Magazine

I kinda went up and then down on this one. I fell for their zine byline, “Not as good as something better,” and for their belief in David Byrne’s sentiment to “stop making sense.” I fell into Wendy’s world trustingly. And for a while I enjoyed myself, laughing along at their cutthroat jokery, fun games and general nonsense. Then I got a little bored. Like when you’re hanging out with a couple people who’ve known each other for a long time and are sharing inside jokes, with one too many tokes under their belts deluding them of their stand-up comic nature. If the Wendys direct their sharp, witty and insightful lens towards some more meaningful issues, they could have a hit on their hands. (heze douglas)
